Mulugeta is, at the moment, a freelance consultant. Trained as a comparative lawyer and economist, Mulugeta has more than fifteen years of experience in legal and policy research and practice. He has consulted a number of national and international organizations on a range of issues. In 2011, Mulugeta was awarded his PhD from the University of Surrey (UK).
He studied law and economics (EMLE, 2009) in the universities of Manchester (UK), Ghent (Belgium with Distinction) and Rotterdam (Netherlands). He also studied European and comparative law in the University of Ghent (LLM, 2004, with Great Distinction). He obtained his LLB (2001) from Addis Ababa University. Mulugeta’s interest in research and writing has two components. On the one hand, he studies and writes about the impact of institutions, environment, narratives and beliefs on the behavior of humans and their organizations. On the other, he studies and writes about the influence of the beliefs/knowledge, interest, resources and networks of humans and their organizations on the substance and form of institutions, environment, narratives and beliefs. In short, he is interested in humans (and their organization) as creators and creatures of institutions, environment, narratives and beliefs. Mulugeta is available to provide consulting and training services.
